The UbuntuWorks Project
The UbuntuWorks Project
We are at a crossroads. We can choose despair, chaos and separation, or redirect our institutions and resources toward relationship and connection. How we choose to walk on the earth, work and relate can shift our fate.
The Ubuntuworks Project , a 501 (c)(3) educational organization, infuses ubuntu-based principles into our schools, workplaces, corporations and courtrooms. Our Ubuntuworks Coalition of organizations and individuals share research and strategies to make a difference and usher in an Era of Ubuntu across the planet.
Through school and teacher trainings, new workplace policies and practices, expanded corporate responsibility and reframing how we address conflict, the Project helps power a new more peaceful and connected tomorrow.
Ubuntuworks Executive Director Eric Sirotkin with Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Monitors of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission
" Ubuntu is the essence of being human. The solitary individual is a contradiction in terms. We are corporate.
What I do to you I do to myself. "

Project Goals 2023
FIRST PHASE
The first phase of builds a resource hub for the data, studies and experiences that support the power of connectedness, empathic, compassionate ways of living, working and teaching. The science is there and it shows that we are not soft wired for violence and separation, but for compassion and connection.
SECOND PHASE
The second phase reaches out to the thousands of organizations and thinkers in the fields that use ubuntu based principle active or compassionate listening, indigenous dispute resolution, restorative justice, Nonviolent communication etc) and builds a coalition reflective of these principles so they may draw upon our Phase 1 resource hub and see their connection to a change movement in our institutions. We will weave connections that both reflect ubuntu, and empower these organizations in their own work and help them help others to adopt their skill sets that are so necessary for a new tomorrow.
THIRD PHASE
The third phase builds donor and grant support for the infusion of ubuntu-based principles into schools through a teacher training program and curriculum, into workplaces to enhance relationships at work and increase productivity and job satisfaction, into corporations to expand programs that redefine corporate responsibility, and to expand the use of conflict resolution models that help heal rather than divide.
FOURTH PHASE
As all hubs expand in their scope and outreach, a final phase tackles applying the principles to activism and social change wherein we use the wisdom of this process to break through barriers of us vs them in politics and international relations and refocus international resources onto ways to lift humanity out of hunger, war and separation.
